The 2016 theme for TEDxEastVan was 'MOVE' and I got to know residents and what 'move' means to them across all the different neighbourhoods with the 'Humans of East Van' photo project! The project was used across social media for the event and in an exhibition on the day too, alongside a photo booth for attendees. I also took head shots of the awesome speakers who shaped up the stage.
A conference for freelancers, solopreneurs, moonlighters and consultants. Speakers and panels brought inspiration, ideas and creativity to the event, and the day was a fantastic opportunity to meet peers and potentials collaborators.
SIETAR (Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research) held their first Unconference, on how to build a more inclusive community. The event was full of lively discussions and debates on what it is to be inclusive in BC and how we can work together to create a community that welcomes, celebrates and supports all our differences.
Flaunt Fashion Library teamed up with Vancouver's most fashionable bloggers for Shop The Blogger Closet sale. Attendees could shop hundreds of items including women's clothing, shoes, purses, and accessories. They held the event in partnership with the charity Plan International Canada's Because I am a Girl program which funds projects that focuses on providing girls in the poorest regions of the world access to their rights and a quality education.
